Message from the Superintendent of Schools

I am honored to serve as your next Superintendent of Schools, and I look forward to working with all district stakeholders. As you know, our district is the heartbeat of our community. I passionately believe that the foundation of our success will rely on providing every student with a safe and dynamic learning environment where they can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

I am personally deeply committed to:

Academic Excellence: Integrating innovative teaching strategies and robust curricula to prepare students for the challenges of the modern world.
Student Well-Being: Ensuring a supportive, welcoming culture where every child feels valued, respected, and heard.
Community Engagement: Partnering closely with families, educators, and local stakeholders to foster open communication and trust.

I also want to thank all stakeholders for their continued and unwavering support for our students and school. I genuinely believe it takes everyone, parents, students, teachers, administration, and the greater community to help young learners reach their full potential. Performance Goals and Objectives

Pennsylvania School Code requires all school districts to develop objectives and performance standards mutually agreed upon by both the Board and the Superintendent. The annual evaluation of the school district Superintendent must be posted on the district’s website following each evaluation. The Turkeyfoot Valley Area School District Board of Directors and Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Nicole L. Dice, have mutually agreed upon the following objectives and performance standards.

Standard 1 - SHARED VISION. An education leader promotes personalized student success by thinking and planning strategically to create and sustain an organizational vision of learning that is shared and supported by the school community.

Standard 2 - CULTURE OF LEARNING. An education leader promotes personalized student success by advocating, nurturing, and sustaining a school culture and instructional program conducive to student learning.

Standard 3 - DECISION MAKING. An education leader promotes personalized student success by accessing and using appropriate data to inform decision making at all levels of the system.

Standard 4 – MANAGEMENT. An education leader promotes personalized student success by ensuring management of the resources for a safe, efficient and effective learning environment.

Standard 5 - FAMILY AND COMMUNITY. An education leader promotes personalized student success by collaborating, communicating, engaging and empowering others inside and outside of the organization to pursue excellence in learning.

Standard 6 – ETHICS. An education leader promotes the personalized student success by operating in a fair and equitable manner with personal and professional integrity.

Standard 7 – ADVOCACY. An education leader promotes personalized student success by advocating for children and public education in the larger political, social, economic, legal and cultural context.

Standard 8 - PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL GROWTH. An education leader promotes the personalized student success by supporting professional growth of self and others through practice and inquiry.

Standard 9 – OBJECTIVE PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE #1: The Superintendent will complete professional development to further her own professional learning.
PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE #2: The Superintendent will provide the opportunity for professional development for all staff.
PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE #3: The Superintendent will analyze and report the progress of the district’s implementation of learner-focused education to the school board.
PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE #4: The Superintendent will review and summarize district student achievement data on state and local testing measures providing a written report to the school board.
